Logo Trends for 2016-2017

The world of business and technology is changing at a faster and faster rate and with that so does logo design. What was popular five years ago may not be popular now. Technology is constantly giving us easier and more widespread ways of penetrating the market with commerce.  We only have seconds to make an impression. So as a treat for you I have put together a list of the latest trends in logo design. Let’s start with the type that has held for many a year… Flat The clean Read More…

FREE Printable “Thinking of You” Card with Forest Animals

I have been spending more time outside recently as the weather has warmed up and it has me thinking a lot about the beauty all around us. I am away from my family and missing them like crazy so  I created these cute, simple watercolor “Thinking of You” and “Wishing you were here” cards! The first has a darling deer with antlers and the second a small brown bear. I am posting them here as a FREE printable for your personal use! Print on whatever paper you like, but I think they Read More…

Never too Old to Dream!

You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream. C.S. Lewis

Evolution of an Humanitarian Artist When I graduated from BYU ten years ago, I walked away with a large pool of knowledge about Visual Arts and Socio-Cultural Anthropology.  The two fields do not necessarily coincide easily, and I found myself gravitating towards applying my Anthropology education to humanitarian aid.  In fact, by the time I received my diploma, I had developed a burning passion for humanitarian aid and a goal to devote my life and career to it.  Like so many other graduates before me, I had high aspirations to Read More…

Pantone Color of the Year 2014 is….

pantone fashion colors 2014

Radiant Orchid! Last week Pantone announced that the “it” color for 2014 would be Radiant Orchid.  Done right, I think this color could be a glamorous addition to any logo or web design.  Done wrong, you might end up reminding people of a certain famous purple dinosaur. So, how to pair it so that your design (or ensemble) looks charming, not childish? Stick to Classic Palettes I’ve created some basic palettes below that incorporate tried and true color relationships as well as some of Pantone’s Top Colors for 2014.  Keep Read More…
