One of the many privileges of being a designer is the opportunity to work with some amazing clients. June Lily recently finished up a project and can we just say that Linda from Craftaholics Anonymous is one of those amazing clients! We spent many weeks working out the fine details of her project, and here it is!!
We created a logo for her that reflects the bright energy of her blog. Each creative project on her blog is centered around her home and family and thus the whimsical heart. The design is feminine and modern, while remaining meaningful and vibrant.
Her blog is just bursting with life and we wanted her design to emphasize the wonderful content of her website. The overall design was kept minimalistic and modern with a few bright pops of color here and there. We added in an intuitive post slider under her menu so she could feature her favorite posts, too.
We also designed a unique archive page design for all her category and archive pages.
We are pretty happy with the end result over here at June Lily, if you have a chance to see the design in action, check it out!
Meet Lesley Grainger. June Lily was able to help Lesley with her design needs back when her website was focused on creating fantastic children’s art. Since then, she has branched out with her amazing artistic abilities to modern art pieces, and June Lily was able to help launch her latest venture: an ecommerce shop! Lesley took the reigns on the ecommerce website design, while June Lily handled the behind the scenes website code and installation. We made sure to make her new website completely mobile and tablet ready, and features not only her ecommerce shop, but also her portfolio and blog. Her ecommerce shop is built on WordPress using the WooCommerce plugin.

Every now and then I get this overwhelming craving to paint. There is just something about paint on canvas that is completely relaxing and rejuvenating. I was watching a little video a couple days ago that involved some painted illustrations, and it started my mind a whirling. It was like an itch I couldn’t scratch. My fingers and hands were screaming, “Must paint!”
I started this piece awhile back, but having a baby, moving, keeping up with my other 3 kids, and running June Lily has made it difficult to find time to finish. So, with my craving in full force, I sat down and pushed the paint until it was complete. And here it is!
It’s 24″x24″ acrylic on canvas, and is a companion piece for this one that I did awhile back:
I don’t have a lot of spare time as a mom and small business owner, but I never regret carving a little time out to set at my easel. It’s like a breath of fresh air!
It’s been awhile since we highlighted any of our recent custom design projects, so I thought I would take a moment and draw your attention to Thriving Home Blog. June Lily had the pleasure of designing a custom logo and blog design for the amazing ladies behind the blog. Polly and Rachel write about their lives as stay-at-home mothers. Topics range from crafting, cooking, parenting, and much more.
For their logo, we decided on a lively color palette that would compliment the energetic nature of their website. Jovial bursts of color adorn a whimsical tree in their logo, while the word “home” is strong and central within the design–indicative of how important “home” is to these women and their lives.
We kept the blog design simple and clean, with lots of white space to allow the content of the blog to rule the screen.
We also created a user-friendly, custom recipe index page that would highlight and organize the many delicious recipes these ladies cook up!
All-in-all, we all had a truly enjoyable journey creating a logo and blog design to match the wholesome, fun energy of this successful blog!
Sooo… if you follow the goings on around here you may remember my oh-so-hopeful announcement of a coming June Lily Shop. And, if you are even more observant, you will have noticed that not much has changed around my site to show for my efforts in that regard. Sigh.
I would say that I am sorry, but I’m not sure it would be honest. I mean, who can really focus on work with this chubby cherub around? I’m a little biased, but I am pretty sure he’s the cutest baby on my block. Certainly, the giggliest. And, if his cheeks are any indication, he’s milk’s biggest fan!
My, my he has definitely inspired me–I have so many creative juices flowing! Sadly, those juices have, for the most part, stayed flowing in my head instead of being direct to my hands. But, alas, I am a patient artist and I haven’t lost motivation.
That’s not to say I haven’t been working. Custom design projects have certainly kept me on my toes since I came back from maternity leave. June Lily has been a hoppin’ place on that front! For now, though, it’s chilly outside, and I think I’ll go snuggle my little one while he’s still squishy and small. Happy Holidays everyone!
It’s nippy outside, pumpkin spiced candles are brewing, and Thanksgiving turkey leftovers are slowly being nibbled away. You know what that means? Christmas is upon us! I have a confession, though… I’ve had Christmas music going pretty much 24/7 in my house since the middle of November! I just love the holiday season! I love the warm sweaters, hot cocoa, family parties, and overall feeling of goodwill. Know what else I love? A good sale!! So, I thought June Lily clients might like it too.

Happy Holidays from June Lily!
I have been trying to squeeze in time to draw and illustrate lately and found a few moments the other day to whip up some elephant drawings. I decided since Thanksgiving is fast approaching, I’d create these super cute free printable thank you cards. I have had elephants and circus animals on the brain lately because I plan to decorate my new baby boy’s room that way. (Some people decorate the nursery BEFORE the baby comes, but where’s the adventure in that? He’s only 3 months old. We’re still getting to know him people. And, now that he’s here I think vintage circus is perfect for my happy, chubby babe.) Sooo, you may see more illustrations with that theme at some point in the future.
For now, enjoy these free printable elephant thank you cards delivered to you in a handy PDF file. Just print on whatever paper you like, cut in half and fold. They fit perfectly in any A4 envelope such as these cute recycled envelopes. Enjoy!
